Is it more profitable to open a business as an online business, store, or both?
What I mean is… What will bring more profit and sales between putting a business up online and selling a product or service, as opposed to openning up a full-scale store. Or should I do both?
Keep in mind about bills, and other expenses that need to be paid that will be taken out of the business’ profits.
I want to open a guitar and music store
The beauty of an online business is two-fold. First is that you work at your own time table. If you want to work at 2:00 in the morning, that’s your business. ha ha
Secondly, you reach a much broader audience. You have a worldwide market that is typing in keywords into search engines 24 hours a day.
Basically, you could start out online, by building a content website all about musical instruments, or even more specifically, guitars. You can even narrow it further to a specific type of guitar (oops – I don’t even know what types there are). But you see what I mean, I hope.
Once you get your content site built you gradually add in your different streams of revenue as you feel comfortable and time allows. You could start off with Google Ads if you just want to start getting a little income without any additional work. Then you can consider becoming an affiliate to different guitar and guitar supplies (?) distributers. That way you can get commissions off of their sales. If you want to offer a service you can add that on easily and finally, if you want to add an online store of your own you can do that too.
Those are just a few of the options open to you. As you can see, the sky is practically the limit. If you love your subject and put in the time and effort you could really create yourself a terrific online business. Maybe you will decide to go offline as well, who knows.
If you don’t really know or understand how to go about doing just what I described, I would recommend the company that I used to build my online business. My site is http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com If you take a look in my profile/avatar you will see some helpful links that will lead you in the right direction.
And, by the way, you don’t have to spend a fortune getting started and investing. I only paid $299 for the whole year, and that was all the training, tools, software, etc. included. Haven’t had to pay anything further, and, of course, I earned that back already. The only other expense has been my time and energy. =)
If you’d like to ask me any further questions about this, feel free to email. Good luck.

It depends, to some degree, where you live. An online business basically saves you expensive office space; in my town, this is about $1300 a month for 1k sq. feet. That is fairly low. Shipping and handling might chip at you a bit.
A physical store would be much better in attracting customers. You can do more promotions and set up an atmosphere. Gauging how much you will actually sell is a matter left to you. We do not know the variables involved as well as you.
E-business is cheaper, but if you are supplying a community or want to have "fun", a store might be best. It really depends on you. And, after all, there is no reason you can have both…
Do some research on how much you expect to sell at your local market. Find out potential locations and see if the profits will break even over the rent.References :
